Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
News Atlas (“we”, “the site”) is a free live news feed that shows public headlines from open news sources and GDELT data. We aim to keep the product simple: no accounts and no login.
Information we collect
- Local preferences — filter choices, timespans, and language may be stored in your browser’s
localStorage/ cookies so settings persist. This data stays on your device (except the language cookie used for routing). - Technical logs — our host (for example Vercel) may automatically collect standard server logs such as IP address, user agent, and request times for security and reliability.
- Analytics / ads — if Google AdSense (or similar) is enabled, Google and partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. See Google’s advertising policies.
- Translation — optional machine translation may send short UI strings or headlines to a translation provider to localize the experience. We do not send account data (there are no accounts).
How we use information
We use technical data to run and improve the site, prevent abuse, and (when configured) show relevant advertising. We do not sell personal information.
Third-party services
- Publisher RSS / Google News / GDELT — headline metadata is fetched server-side. Following a story opens the publisher’s site.
- Google AdSense — when enabled, ads are provided by Google.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
